Adult Sibling Grief
This site is dedicated to the formation of a support community for those who have suffered the devastating loss of an adult sibling. The purpose of this site is to offer comfort and support to the thousands of individuals who will experience the death of an adult sibling and to promote the exchange of ideas and wisdom. This site contains a chat room, message board, a place to reserve books dealing with death of a sibling, a memorials and tributes page where you can create a memorial or tribute for a loved one for others to view, and a resource page with links to other grief websites.

Alive Alone
Alive Alone is an organization for the education and charitable purposes to benefit bereaved parents, whose only child or all children are deceased, by providing a self-help network and publications to promote communication and healing, to assist in resolving their grief, and a means to reinvest their lives for a positive future.

Beyond Indigo
Changing the way you feel about grief and loss.  Those having lost a parent, child, spouse or friend share their experiences here...the spirit of sharing memories and comforting others through their grief can be found throughout the site. Members write of anniversaries and special dates, of words they wished to have spoken and of their anger over a sudden death.


Children's Grief
Linda Goldman is certified by the Association for Death Education and Counseling as a grief therapist and educator. In her site, she offers helpful information about children and grief and discusses how people can help grieving children. Helpful links and book purchasing opportunities are also available.

The Compassionate Friends
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive. The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. There is no religious affiliation and there are no membership dues or fees.

Coping with Your Loss
The American Association of Retired Persons publishes this site. This site explores physical health, emotional health, mental health, issues concerning being alone, expressing yourself, and special issues for spouses, men, younger widowed, adult children and parents. This site also contains several free online services such articles, publications, support groups, journals, discussion boards, and e-cards.

Counseling for Loss and Life Changes
This website is published by Counseling For Loss & Life Changes, Inc. The CLLC site contains a list of many articles dealing with grief, an online bookstore, grief links, grief resources, information on children and grief, and information on professional services. Additionally, this web page contains memorial tributes, personal accounts, and personal journals, each of which provides a more personal look at grief.

Elder Hope
The purpose of this Elder Hope site is to "offer you support inspiration and nurturance." This site contains access to numerous death and grief resources, a grief booklet (that can be downloaded), a chat room for support, and a free grief and loss online class.

Family Grief Resources
Family Grief Resources is an informative website with a list of resources (support groups and newsletters), recommended readings, and articles. It also tells one man's story as he attempts to grieve the loss of his father while explaining to his children what has happened to their grandfather.

Good Grief
The Shiva Foundation is a not-for-profit organization committed to developing resources and offering support in the grieving process. The foundation offers programs to individuals, families and communities. This site contains a lot of useful information about grief in general, general facts about grief, and information on the workshops and retreats conducted by the Shiva Foundation.

Grief and Loss
This website is designed for people grieving over the loss of a spouse, child, sibling, parent or friend. The AARP Grief and Loss Programs offer a wide variety of resources and information on bereavement issues. Services include: one-to-one peer outreach, a grief course, bereavement support groups, informational booklets and brochures, and online support. The site includes articles addressing specific issues such as how to listen to a person who is grieving, the normal reactions to grief, how to maintain your health, and how to get through the holidays.

Grief Healing
This site is aimed at people who are anticipating or coping with a significant loss in their lives and wish to better understand the grief that accompanies such loss. This site offers information, comfort, and support to those who are in the grieving process.

Grief Net
GriefNet.org is an Internet community of persons dealing with grief, death, and major loss.

Grief Recovery
This site is aimed has three different goals. 1) You have a desire to help others with a death, a divorce, or other major losses. 2) Your own life has been affected by a loss, and you have become aware that you do not know what to do to help yourself deal with the emotions you are experiencing. 3) You are seeking information on grief and recovery for your organization. Learn about sponsored programs for your social service organization; health care facility; religious or spiritual group; large corporation or small business. The site includes a personal workshop for those who are seeking grief and bereavement training, and a well-developed bookstore.
Grief Share
It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you've lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you have probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.
That's the reason for GriefShare, a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. This group is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.

Grieving and Pet Loss
This site, written by Margaret Muns, DVM, explores the grief associated with the loss of a pet. Psychologists have long recognized that the grief suffered by pet owners after their pet dies are the same as that experienced after the death of a person. The death of a pet means the loss of a non-judgmental love source. There is no longer anything for the pet owner to nurture and care for. Furthermore, the owner looses his or her contact with "the natural world." These feelings can be particularly intense for the elderly, single people and childless couples, (for whom the pet also is a child substitute).

Journey of Hearts
Journey of Hearts is a unique web experience. This site combines elements of medicine, psychiatry, poetry, prose and images to provide resources and support to those who have experienced loss, be it acute or long- standing. By bringing together these different disciplines and combining various aspects with images and color we have developed a new style of website, one that can be "experienced" as much as accessed for medical information.

This AARP site explores the emotions several things to remember when faced with the death of your spouse. Losing a loved one "whether through unexpected or anticipated circumstances" is always traumatic. This is especially true with the death of a spouse. It is one of life's most profound losses. The transition from wife to widow, husband to widower, is a very real, painful, and personal phenomenon. The trauma of trying to adjust to this new identity while being besieged with a multitude of urgent questions and decisions can be overwhelming.

This site explores the emotions of pet loss, defining 'quality of life', pre-loss bereavement, surviving loss, conquering guilt, creating a memorial, euthanasia, issue concerning the final farewell, do pets go to heaven?, and getting a new pet. Survivor of Suicide
T he Survivors of Suicide web site is an independently owned and operated web site and is in no way associated with any specific group, organization or religious affiliation.
The purpose of the Survivors Of Suicide web site is to help those who have lost a loved one to suicide resolve their grief and pain in their own personal way.
The grief that survivors of suicide experience is unique. The questions often left behind are at times unbearable. It is my hope that this site will offer information that will help answer some of those questions, as well as provide a safe place for survivors and friends of survivors to share their struggle and pain and offer comfort and understanding to others who have experienced a similar loss.

The Sibling Connection
This site has been created as a resources for anyone who has experienced the death of a brother or sister; adults who grew up with a sibling who had a chronic and fatal disease; and professional counselors, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
